According to the book “Evidence for Christianity” by Josh McDowell, here are 29 “prophecies from the Old Testament, which speak of the betrayal trial, defeat, and burial of our Lord Jesus Christ, were spoken at various times by many different voices during the five centuries from 1,000 B.C. to 500 B.C. This is a cool site which Rainn Wilson (Dwight from the Office) help start. They say “SoulPancake is, quite simply, the only place on the Web to debate, wrestle with, and explore creativity AND spirituality.” Sounds like it’s right up our alley. Check it out here at SoulPancake.com. Kudos to Josh from CFC for the link.
Expelled is sweet, like EVV’s Donut Bank. It makes a great case for Intelligent Design (the idea that universe came about NOT by random chance, but by an Intelligent Designer).
The movie’s website, www.expelledmovie.com also has some cool resources, including this pdf. (Leader’s Guide)
Now, my goal is not to make fun of anyone or their beliefs, but IF Truth is relative, then would Jediism be as legitimate as any other religion?

We’re kicking off the View series at con.tin.u.um.
Episode 1: Reality, Not Just Religion
Is religion rational? Do smart, thinking people believe this stuff?
Is religion a crutch for weak-minded people?
Is it something that makes us feel good or behave better and eat more vegetables for strong, healthy bones, but doesn’t really explain reality?
Most people that grow up in church end up leaving the faith in college. They went to Sunday school, youth group, church on Sundays and yet something either didn’t stick OR, maybe the whole thing is wrong?
One of the major reasons people leave the faith is they fail to see that the Bible explains reality, not just religion.
So, for pt 1, we’ll explore and hopefully make the case that the Bible explains reality, not just religion.
Click here to download a rough draft pdf of pt 1 – Reality, not just Religion.
Bill Maher just released a documentary called “Religulous” with the director of “Borat”.
Some of the questions he raises:
Why is faith good?
How can rational people believe in religion?
How would you answer that?
Do you get defensive?
If the Bible is really an explanation of reality, then it should stand up to any ideology and be a better, more RATIONAL explanation of life.
First post…Here’s the basic idea. People raised in church tend to hop off the wagon and leave the faith during college. Whether it’s the philosophy profs, biology class or not wanting to adopt our parent’s beliefs as our own, people are not viewing the Bible as REALITY. It gets pushed back to “religion” and then dismissed as a personal choice of values. The Bible claims that it explains reality.
So, we’re going to look at reality from a Biblical perspective and see how it stands up to other lines of thought. From there, we’ll then look at what the Bible says about applying the whole God, Bible church thing to real life.
