Fundraiser for Dream Center by Helping Park Cars at Frog Follies

Group Leaders,

If your Life Group will help park cars for a 4 hour shift for the Frog Follies, the funds will be donated to the Dream Center.

This is a GREAT opportunity for you to serve in our community!! Start your group off right by serving, as every Life Groups does at least 3 community serve projects during this next Life Group season.

The Dream Center is a faith based organization that serves approximately 300 local children a week by providing meals, mentoring, life skills and Christian education/music.

The days needed are August 27, 28 & 29. Shift times for all 3 days are: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM or 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

Free food and free t-shirts provided to everyone who volunteers.

Ford Life Group and Feed My Starving Children Foundation

John and Linda Ford’s Life Group signed up to volunteer at Crossroads for the Feed My Starving children Foundation project. It was an amazing experience. To get the history of Haiti and the devastation from the earthquake was eye opening. It makes you realize that what you have, if little or much, is more than what is needed to survive. God blesses us in order for us to give back to those in need. We are required, by the love of Christ and the freedom in our salvation, to give if it is given to us!

Oh and the head gear was a real hit!! At least we all looked silly and none were singled out!!:)

Gries Life Group Project

Ann & Bob Gries’ Life Group found a woman aged 70 who had a storage barn that was falling apart and needed repairs. She has limited income and couldn’t afford the repairs. So, their group paid for the repairs, cleaned things up, organized and bought an extra storage container.

Kerney Life Group – Thanksgiving 2009

The Kerney Life Group went down to the ECLC the night before Thanksgiving and loaded over 1,400+ meals and pumpkin muffins into a truck, drove the truck from ECLC to Bethel and then unloaded part of the truck at Bethel to prepare for the ECLC first ever satelite campus to deliver meals at thanksgiving from Bethel.

Missions Booth clean and ready thanks to one Life Group

On Saturday, October 3, 2009, the Brown Life Group cleaned out the Missions Booth to prepare it for the week ahead at the Fall Festival. The proceeds from the food booth sales go toward assisting our missionaries in the United States and around the world.

Those serving included: Mike and Bobbie Farmer, Missy Duggan, Jennie Jackson, Donna Ball, Bob and Ellan Brown, and Dave and Connie Yoak.

Pace with Purpose

Emily Ryan took her passion and gift from God “running long distance” outside the church walls to spear head a monthly event Pace with Purpose. The plan for Pace with Purpose was to put on a fun run once a month and collect donations from the participants for a worthy cause. Pace with Purpose has been meeting monthly since April to raise money for non-profit organizations focusing primarily on groups that support children.

This weekend, Saturday, August 22nd, Pace with a Purpose will have their last monthly meeting at Wesselman Park at 8:00 a.m. It is a fun 3 mile walk/run that can be made shorter or longer if desired. Families and strollers are welcome! All donations will go to the Vanderburgh County Boys and Girls Club. Checks can be made out to The Boys and Girls Club or Pace with Purpose.

One of their events collected diapers for the Evansville Christian Life Center. Another event drew only 11 participants, but raised $600 for the Court Appointed Special Advocated (CASA) program.
